How can the constant change and development of technology have an impact on learning with Special Educational Needs.

Technology within SEN is something that’s constantly changing and developing to suit each individual that uses these technologies as life line into communicating and socialising. “Technology support enables individuals with disabilities to complete daily living activities, work successfully, benefit from learning environments, and enjoy leisure time.”(Ennis-Cole and Smith, 2011) It is clear that these changes have lead to a break through of independence being accessible to all people with disabilities not just students.

Within this blog I will be exploring a verity of topics and issues raised around the purpose and need for assistive technology with in SEN schools such as; how the Picture Exchange Communication System (PEC) has developed and how software is now slowly replacing physical PEC books to be an app on an iPad or tablet.
